Thailand

In the summer of 2007, my wife and I got married and went on a honeymoon in Thailand. We traveled about 30 hours on three different airplanes to get the captial, Bangkok. Bangkok is a huge city of over seven million people. In Bangkok, we learned to cook spicy Thai food, visited the enormous reclining Buddha and the revered Emerald Buddha each guarded by statues of giant demons, watched a traditional Thai dance show with over 100 actors in 500 costumes and loads of special effects, and bargained for souvenirs in huge outdoor markets,

We then traveled to the jungle-covered island of Koh Chang and trekked into the rainforest with its stellar butterflies, massive spiders, sure-footed geckos, and squirrel-like gibbon monkeys. Koh Chang is about 70% protected rain forest and has many waterfalls. We also made sure we spent time relaxing at the pool over-looking the beach.
